PARIS — EDA company Mentor Graphics Corp. is in talks to acquire Yavne-based productivity improvement software developer Valor Computerized Systems Ltd., according to Israeli business publication Globes.

Financial details remained undisclosed.

Globes' report indicated that Valor's share fell by 0.2 percent in early trading on XETRA today (Aug. 10), giving a market cap of $106 million. The share has risen by 183 percent since the beginning of the year.

Earlier this year, Valor acquired the assets of PCB Matrix Corp., a provider of EDA library generation tools for both land pattern and schematic symbols.

For the first quarter of 2009, ending March 31, Valor published revenues of $9 million, similar to the revenues in the previous quarter, which amounted to $9.1 million.

Valor said its net profit in the first quarter of 2009 was $0.8 million, versus a net loss of $0.8 million in the previous quarter.

DS Apex Holdings Ltd. owns 18.8 percent of the company through mutual and provident funds.
