SAN FRANCISCO—Veteran semiconductor industry analyst Scott Hudson died July 6 after suffering fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident. He was 52.

Hudson worked as an analyst and market researcher with several firms, including Dataquest, In-Stat, IDC and iSuppli Corp. He also held positions at Silicon Valley companies, including Apple and, most recently, Sanmina-SCI Corp.

Bill McClean, president of IC Insights Inc., said he worked for several years with Hudson at Integrated Circuit Engineering Corp. in Scottsdale, Ariz. Hudson had also done some work for IC Insights on a contractual basis, McClean said.

"On behalf of all at IC Insights, we extend our deep and sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Scott Hudson," McClain said in a statement.

Hudson's obituary in the San Jose Mercury News said he was survived by two sisters, his step mother and several nieces and nephews.
