Bisco Industries Inc. distributes electronic components and fasteners to customers in the aerospace, medical, telecommuni- cations, computer, networking and fabrication industries. In addition to its distribution network, Bisco offers various value-added services, including an autoreplenishment program that helps customers move parts to the production floor when needed. Stock levels are monitored by Bisco or the customer through a file-sharing or bar-coding system.
Bisco also designs and implements inventory-management services, which can work with an autoreplenishment service or function as a standalone system. Additionally, the company provides cable assembly, parts modification, and special labeling and packaging for customers.
Carrying more than 230 product lines, Bisco operates its distribution channel out of 35 locations in the United States and Canada, where customers can receive personalized service in addition to regular component purchase. Company executives said they plan to expand into Mexico.
Bisco recently broadened its product line by signing on to distribute switch products from Moujen Switch USA.
Executives said the company also plans to increase its competitiveness by expanding beyond North America to Europe and other global high-tech manufacturing regions.
