Coming off its March 2007 acquisition by the Warren Buffet-led Berkshire Hathaway Group, TTI/Mouser spent much of last year beefing up its management ranks and exploring new growth areas. Among the flurry of new appointments of key senior employees was the promotion of Tony Miller to senior vice president of mergers and acquisitions, a position created to help the Fort Worth, Texas, company develop strategic opportunities and value-added acquisitions, according to a company press release. The announcement ties in with Berkshire's commitment to "accelerating the growth at TTI," the company reported.
The passive, interconnect and electromechanical component distributor also brought industry veteran Tom Vanderheyden on board as vice president of sales excellence. In that role, Vanderheyden will be responsible for sales operations, sales training, the Business Development Group and the Plus sales organization.
TTI Inc.'s product line includes resistors, capacitors, connectors, discretes, potentiometers, trimmers, magnetic and circuit protection components, wire and cable, wire management, identification products, application tools and electromechanical devices. These products are distributed from a broad line of manufacturers, the company said in a statement on its Web site. TTI also offers market research information on "IP&E technology and market information through the online MarketEye Research Center," it said.
Meanwhile, TTI affiliate Mouser Electronics signed new deals or expanded existing contracts with various companies, including Actel, Amphenol, Avago Technologies, On Semiconductor, Sharp Microelectronics and Tyco.
