WASHINGTON The Energizer Bunny is looking for a few good battery designers.
Energizer Holdings Inc., the St. Louis-based battery maker, is planning a series of design seminars during the week of March 16 to provide detailed information on its zinc air batteries. The technology was unveiled during the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
Energizer is hoping OEM designers will adopt the battery technology for portable electronics devices. The design seminars will cover product technology, a description of the types of air management needed to optimize battery performance and a detailed examination of the battery compartment design.
Energizer claims its zinc air battery technology offers greater energy density than other consumer disposable or rechargeable batteries in a 5-millimeter-thin rectangular compartment. The result is a three-fold increase in run-time over alkaline or lithium-ion batteries, Energizer claims.
Design seminars are scheduled in: Silicon Valley, Newport Beach, Calif.; Chicago and New York City.
