BFi OPTiLAS claims to offer the first WiMAX 802.16e compliant radio solution for use in the 5 GHz spectrum released by leading broadband wireless vendor Alvarion.

The BreezeMAX Extreme 5000 product set includes Single Input Single Output (SISO) and Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) A and B variants ensuring high capacity broadband provision is made possible in densely populated urban, suburban and rural areas.

To date, wireless broadband provision has been achieved using 802.11b/g (WiFi) and 802.11a MAC based systems; primarily indoor protocols, these have been adapted for outdoor use. The BreezeMAX Extreme 5000 product range offers all the advantages of WiMAX 16e and more, specially adapted to fit the license-exempt frequency bands. Leveraging carrier class QoS, along with the superior radio technology, formed in a small all-outdoor highly integrated design, the BreezeMAX Extreme presents an attractive solution for all wireless broadband deployment scenarios, in frequency bands readily available within the UK.

Extreme 5000 offers increased sector capacity, increased subscriber unit capability and enhanced interference mitigation ensuring rapid ROI for Wireless ISPs.
