Atmel enhances AVR MCU line

San Jose, Calif.—Atmel Corp. has rolled out its picoPower AVR ATtiny10 microcontroller, with 1K bytes of programmable flash memory, and 32 bytes of internal SRAM.

With up to 12 MIPS of processing throughput, 8-bit A/D converter, analog comparator, and a 16-bit timer with PWM, this 6-pin device is well suited for size and cost constrained high volume consumer applications.

All tinyAVR microcontrollers use the standard AVR microcontroller development tools. The AVR StudioAVR integrated development environment is available free of charge on Atmel's website.

Pricing: Volume price for 10k units is USD $0.35.
Availability: Samples are available now. It is housed in a 2x3 mm SOT-23 package.
