8/3/2009 1:16 PM EDT
SAN FRANCISCO—Programmable logic supplier Lattice Semiconductor Corp. Monday (Aug. 3) rolled out a new version of its free ispLEVER Classic design tool suite, including updated support for Lattice's complex programmable logic devices (CPLDs).

Version 1.3 of ispLEVER Classic is available, free of charge from Lattice's website, the company said. Optional Synopsys Synplify logic synthesis and Aldec Active-HDL simulator modules are also available, Lattice said.

Version 1.3 of ispLEVER Classic includes updated ordering part number designations for GAL 22V10 lead free QFNS package devices, Lattice (Hillsboro, Ore.) said. To further support designers who maintain mature systems with discontinued Lattice devices, ispLEVER Classic 1.3 software now includes the "Obsolete Pack," which enables additional device support within the design tools, the company said.

The ispLEVER Classic 1.3 tool suite for Windows users is available immediately for free, Lattice said.
