Cree is a developer, manufacturer, and marketer of electronic devices made from silicon carbide (SiC). The Company incorporates its proprietary technology to produce compound semiconductors for use in automotive and liquid crystal display (LCD) backlighting; indicator lamps; full color light emitting diode (LED) displays and other lighting applications. The Company also manufacturers SiC crystals used in the production of moissanite gemstones and SiC wafers for research directed toward optoelectronic, microwave and power applications.
