PARIS — After Magillem SA, Docea Power SAS (Moirans, France) is announcing a collaboration with CoFluent Design (Nantes, France) to accelerate power exploration and optimization of electronic systems.

Partners said their respective products, CoFluent Studio ESL modeling and simulation software environment and Docea Power's Aceplorer (ACE stands for Abstract Concept of Energy) software, are part of an interoperation solution that is claimed to enable systems architects to optimize power usage.

In a commentary, Stéphane Leclercq, chief executive officer of CoFluent Design, stated: “Power estimation and analysis is a crucial element when exploring and optimizing the architecture of electronic systems as 80 percent of power gains can be obtained at this stage. However, true system-level optimization requires analyzing all system dimensions at once: behavior, performance, power, and cost."

Leclercq continued: "The interoperability between CoFluent Studio and Aceplorer allows for describing all the architectural dimensions of an electronic system and analyzing them from a single model. Full power optimization gains can be obtained only when all dimensions in system architecting have been investigated under various dynamic application scenarios."

Partners said they will provide a prototype demonstration of the interoperability between CoFluent Studio and Aceplorer at this year's DAC, from June 13 to June 18, in Anaheim, Calif.

In parallel, Docea Power said it is collaborating with Paris-based Magillem SA on a power-aware platform description based on IEEE 1685IP-XACT.

Magillem and Docea said they plan to develop a solution to exchange power-related information using the open IEEE 1685 IP-XACT format and expect to donate their collaboration results to the standardization body.

Magillem and Docea said they will give demonstrations at DAC on June 14 and June 15.
