LONDON — Ceravision Ltd. (Milton Keynes, London), a startup company that has developed a microwave powered light bulb, has selected Sanmina-SCI as a manufacturing partner.

The Continuum 2.4 light bulb was announced at a lighting industry conference in Shanghai in May 2007. It is the first in a range of Ceravision light systems for use in such areas as UV lighting, fiber-optic lighting, architectural lighting, front-projection and digital signage, the company said.

"With a number of OEM customers evaluating our design and more keen to do so, we realized that we needed a world-class manufacturing partner we could rely on to supply products to some of the most demanding customers in the industry," said Tim Reynolds, CEO of Ceravision, in a statement.

"We are looking forward to manufacturing the key components of Ceravision's innovative technology in Europe," said Dennis Young, executive vice president of business development and marketing for Sanmina-SCI, in the same statement.

No details were given about where Sanmina would make the Continuum 2.4, or in what volumes, or the value of the deal.
