SAN FRANCISCO—Programmable logic vendor Xilinx Inc. reportedly plans to cut jobs by 6 percent.

According to a report by San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal, the job cuts were Wednesday at Xilinx' European headquarters in Dublin.

According to The Irish Times, Xilinx management said it would lay off 130 of the company's 400 Ireland-based workers. The paper quoted a spokesperson who attributed the layoffs to global reorganization to ensure ongoing competitiveness.

Xilinx (San Jose, Calif.) did not immediately respond to request for confirmation.
