Core Store Celebrates First Anniversary

The folks over at IPextreme, the ones that bring IP (intellectual property) to system-on-chip designers worldwide, are celebrating the first anniversary of the opening of Core Store, the online store for semiconductor IP. During the first 12 months, IPextreme shipped more than 35 ColdFire microprocessor cores through the Core Store along with a rich selection of AMBA peripherals to companies worldwide.

If traffic is an indicator, the concept is wildly successful given that it increased at a compound rate of 40% per month since it was launched in January 2008. In addition, dozens of companies have utilized the Core Store to purchase CoReUse Foundation eBooks, providing an enterprise-class design reuse methodology to develop and use semiconductor IP.

Don't want to haggle on price in this economy? Core Store customers can view IP cores and price without complicated negotiations. Once purchased by a quick signature on a standard license agreement, the Customers IP is delivered to their desktop through IPextreme's XPack delivery portal. All Core Store products come in an easy-to-use package and with support available as an optional purchase item.

IPextreme partnerships so far include such leading semiconductor companies as Cypress Semiconductor, Freescale, Infineon, Motorola, National Semiconductor, NXP Semiconductors and Texas Instruments. The Core Store has enabled innovative and strategic initiatives such as the offering of the free V1 ColdFire Processor for Altera Cyclone III and NXP's CoReUse methodology.
