GreenRoad, a developer of driver safety technology, said Monday (Feb. 22) it has secured $10 million in financing to continue deploying its "green" technology service.

GreenRoad (Redwood Hills, Calif.) said Generation Investment Management Climate Solutions Fund has invested $10 million in equity capital to accelerate deployment of the GreenRoad 360 service.

The service combines real-time, automated driver coaching with Web-based applications that continuously rate driving skills for trucks, busses, vans and cars.

The company said fleet management and safety professionals can use the system to gain insight into driving behavior and use the tool to help drivers achieve measurable safety and fuel-efficiency goals.
