Rectifier module delivers 800 W in 1U for Net apps

Santa Ana, Calif. - Broadband TelCom power touts the high-power density of its BTC-1036 Rectifier Power Module (RPM), an 800-watt ac/dc front end measuring only 1U high for distributed power, telecom and Internet applications.

Measuring 5.5 x 11.52 x 1.63 inches, the BTC1036 delivers 48 Vdc at 16.6 amps from a universal input. Features include line and load regulation of 0.5 percent, ripple and noise of less than 1 percent peak to peak and efficiency of 88 percent.

Output indicators include a front-panel green light-emitting diode and output OK. The units are power-factor-corrected and electromagnetic interference rated to CISPR22/EN55022-A.

They are rated for operation over -5 degrees to +50 degrees C. The company also offers a 1U high x 12-inch deep rectifier power shelf (RPS) that incorporates three BTC1036 units to produce a combined 2,400 W.

Also available is a 2U-high RPS that accommodates six units (4,800 W). Each RPM within the rectifier shelf has precise active current sharing and is hot-swappable to provide N+1 redundancy. The RPS comes with adjustable mounting ears.

The BTC1036 costs $350 each in 5,000-piece quantities or $437.50 in 1,000s. The 1U rectifier power shelf (RPS2400, shelf without modules) costs $225 each in 5,000-piece units, or $281 in 1,000s.
