Herscher to keynote DAC women's workshop
ANAHEIM, Calif. — The Design Automation Conference (DAC) committee has announced that the annual Workshop for Women in Design Automation will take place here June 2, the first day of DAC. Penny Herscher, executive vice president at Cadence Design Systems, will give a keynote entitled "Saving the world before bedtime — skills for growing a career in tough times."

In her keynote, Herscher will share her philosophies about personal empowerment in tough economic times, and discuss how to meet company and team demands while developing skills and advancing a career.

Women in executive EDA positions will offer opinions in a session titled, "Would life be different if risk were not a factor? Managing life and career transition." Panelists include: Vicki Andrews, senior vice president of worldwide sales at Synopsys; Tsugumi Fujitani, general manager of Nihon Tera Systems K.K.; Pat McCarty, vice president of worldwide customer care at Cadence; and Ann Marie Rincon, engineering fellow at AMI Semiconductor.

As part of the program, the Marie R. Pistilli Women in EDA Achievement Award will be presented. DAC runs June 2-6 at the Anaheim Convention Center. Information about DAC conference events and registration is available at the DAC web site.
