Networking platform for remote management
NET+OS v. 4.0 is an embedded networking platform that offers OEMs remote management, monitoring, and control functionality for products connected to Ethernet networks and the Internet. The platform features a NET+ARM 32-bit networked microprocessor, the Softworks Group's TCP/IP protocol stack, Express Logic's ThreadX real-time operating system v. 4.0, and networking software and utilities such as security and authentication functionality, simple network management protocol (SNMP v. 3), extensible markup language (XML), and active directory and lightweight directory access protocol (LDAP). The security and authentication functionality includes a database for usernames and passwords. The company claims that the incorporation of the Softworks Group protocol stack increases NET+OS's TCP/IP performance by 35%. NET+OS supports Active Directory, a network directory service. It features Fast IP and Fast Socket (fast UDP) APIs; an e-mail application with the ability to send attachments; a serial driver using direct memory access (DMA); configurable PPP; support for multicasting by means of IGMP v. 2; an enhanced ENI driver for shared memory applications; and support for the GPIO interrupts in NetSilicon's NET+50 system-on-chip. Development kits for NET+OS v. 4.0 are available now for $12,500.
