Development environment for Motorola chip
The MULTI2000 integrated development environment is now available for use on Motorola's MPC7450 PowerPC microprocessor, a superscalar RISC architecture designed for use in networking infrastructure applications. The MPC7450 combines four processing units with an IEEE 754-compatible floating-point unit. It also features a 128-bit SMD Altivec vector processing unit. According to the company, the MULTI2000 IDE has been optimized for the MPC7450's various processing units. In general, the MULTI2000 IDE automates software development and includes a window-oriented editor, an RTOS-aware source-level debugger, and a graphical program builder. MULTI2000 with support for the MPC7450 processor is available now. It costs $5,900 for a Windows version and $8,900 for Unix.
