HUNTSVILLE, Ala.-- Intergraph Corp. here on Tuesday announced that a court-ordered mediation with Intel Corp. on April 3 has resulted in an agreement by both parties to search for a settlement in Intergraph's suit against Intel.
Last summer, Intergraph filed another suit against Intel, this time charging that Intel's 64-bit Itanium processor technology infringes upon Intergraph's RISC-based MPU patents. In November 1997, Intergraph also sued Intel for infringing on its Clipper patents, which define the architecture of a microprocessor's cache memory management.
All litigation between the parties is being considered in these discussions. Intergraph issued the "statement to confirm that talks continue," said Intergraph CEO Jim Taylor.
