Voice processor firm gains $15M in funding

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Audience Inc. (Mountain View, Calif.) has raised $15 million in series D funding, bringing the total funding amount to $60 million.

Investors include New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Tallwood Venture Capital, Vulcan Capital and VentureTech Alliance.

Deployed in handsets from LG, Pantech, Sharp and others, Audience's voice processor is geared for advanced noise suppression. Audience's voice processors claim to be the first custom integrated circuits that are modeled after the most efficient and accurate auditory system, the human hearing system.
