Transmeta snags design win in China

Transmeta Corp., Santa Clara, Calif., Wednesday said that SVA Computer Ltd. of China will use the Crusoe TM5800 processor in a notebook PC for the Chinese market.

Matthew Perry, president of Transmeta, said in a statement that the Crusoe design win with SVA "is a key part of our geographic expansion strategy." He said China's electronics market is growing rapidly, and Transmeta planned to build on the SVA win to increase its presence in China.

SVA Computer is affiliated with the SVA Group, Shanghai. The Crusoe processor notebook is available immediately and priced at under the equivalent of $1,500.
