Ambient Light Sensing in Green HDTVs

This paper will help educate the technical design community regarding display management solutions in the HDTV market. It discusses how ambient light sensing and proximity detection technologies support the global "Green" movement to reduce energy consumption. This paper also emphasizes that designers do not need to sacrifice picture quality or design aesthetics in order to reduce power consumption when they incorporate ambient light sensing and proximity detection technologies into their HDTV designs.
