Single-Layer CCD Technology for Linear CCD Image Sensors

Charge coupled devices (CCDs) are at the heart of a wide range of digital imaging devices, such as digital cameras, scanners and multifunction computer peripherals. This paper provides an examination of the new, evolving business markets for linear CCD image sensors with new requirements for increased levels of performance and advanced features. The paper offers a technical overview of new single-layer CCD technology that enables CCD image sensors to address these new requirements by providing higher data rates, higher resolution, lower power dissipation and higher pixel density.
