Mobile TV is gaining a lot of media and consumer attention. The new technology's main challenge lies in the fact that broadband services are not cellular services with bigger channels: tuning in video is not the same as receiving voice signals. This paper discusses the unique technical requirements that must be taken into consideration when adding TV to a mobile handset, such as having a tuner with a broad dynamic range.
