Paradigm Shift in ASIC Technology

The time has come for Standard Cell to give up its reign over ASIC technology. Standard Cell can no long achieve the expected cost and performance benefits of process scaling. Deep submicron (DSM) design and manufacturing constraints will drive the need for a new design technology to replace Standard Cell and again allow affordable ASIC designs.
