Design problems are too often traced back
to poor systems requirements. It is common knowledge that being
able to produce unambiguous and validated specifications is vital,
not only because systems complexity constantly increases, but also
because of time to market and cost constraints.
In this paper, a methodology for Systems design which includes hardware and software for open-loop and closed-loop control provides a systematic, computer-aided approach to requirements definition, specification, and design, as well as verification and validation of the results. The case study focuses on the design of a body controller module application for a vehicle exterior lighting system.
