There is much regulatory and standards work in the area of security, especially in wireless. The wireless LAN standard IEEE 802.11b provides a mechanism for authentication and encryption. This technical paper describes the 802.11b security protocols and the implications they have for user privacy, ease of use, and import/export issues.
