Performance Evaluation of IEEE 802.11 (a/b/g) for Streaming Multimedia Applications

This paper discusses the simulation results on the performance evaluation of existing IEEE standards for streaming multimedia applications. The "OPNET MODELER" has been used for the network simulation considering ideal channel conditions. Performance of the network has been evaluated in respect of delay, loss, throughput considering IEEE802.11a/b/g, subscriber mobility and number of subscribers.
