In anticipation of future system-level verification challenges, a methodology was sought that would fit within existing tools, handle the demands of SoC verification, and support high degrees of design integration and reuse. The resulting transaction-based co-modeling solution has since been applied to a variety of communications devices that handle extremely complex protocols involving data arriving from different asynchronous sources. Verification speeds from 100-800 KHz were achieved in these applications. Co-modeling has dramatically improved the verification capabilities for Broadcom's next-generation.
