This article examines CompactPCI power supplies as standalone parts and in a system environment context to identify the important features that contribute to total redundant computer system reliability. There may be some overlap in the classifications, but this scheme allows a dual view of CompactPCI supplies in the power supply context and in the system context as a whole.
