Recently, a great deal of attention has been focused on the transition from analog to digital television broadcast taking place in North America and around the world. This paper discusses the transition of analog to digital TV (DTV) on a global scale as regionally specific market dynamics such as transmission methods for receiving television (cable, satellite, over-the-air), regulatory guidelines, and spectrum allocation each influence the pace of migration from an analog platform to a digital platform.
