ARM Fast Models—Virtual Platforms for Embedded Software Development
ARM

March 2009
As more processors are integrated into modern SoCs and as the software content increases significantly, representing in many cases, 50 percent of the chip functionality or more, it has become crucial to start the development of the software ahead of the availability of any hardware prototype to ensure shorter and shorter time-to-market deadlines are met.
This paper presents the ARM Fast Models for early software development that allows the execution of software almost at real-time speed while maintaining full functional accuracy. Emphasis is given to the key differentiating elements it offers compared to similar offerings from third-party suppliers.
