Home Automation Comes of Age

Today's home networks often include both wired and wireless systems that control numerous devices, including security systems, lighting, HVAC, home telecare applications, and home entertainment systems. These networked devices require low-power, high-performance technology platforms and robust and reliable solutions. This paper discusses Ember's ZigBee technology, which, together with ARM processors, is enabling the digital home with low-power wireless solutions that solve the unique needs of monitoring, control, and sensor network applications.
