Interest in consumer electronic systems has grown drastically over the past years. Lower prices, increased feature sets, larger memory capacity, and smaller form factors have moved many of these systems to the forefront of consumer demand. These products are all driven by volume sales that require the best solution to meet customer needs without inflating the price, in order to maintain as high a profit margin as possible. This paper will take a look at products from some of the growing consumer electronic segments and identify the key components used in the design through teardown analysis.
