Many software developers know what Lint is but may not know how to use it effectively. Or worse, they ignore the output assuming that if the compiler didn't generate a warning then the products must be sound. A lot of folks are turned off by the copious amount of warnings that Lint can create regarding seemingly innocuous coding constructs. Learn to 'tune' Lint's output to your specific application and warning toleration. Don't get buried by the noisetailor Lint's output reports to your needs.
