The world is going digital. Today, we have digital audio compact disks, digital video disks, digital video cameras, digital cable television, and the list goes on. With all of this data flowing back and forth, high-speed data interconnects are a necessity. The IEEE 1394 High Performance Serial Bus is architected and optimized for digital audio/video data transfers.
